When we last played, on 10 Jan 2016, there were 7,348,382,606 people on this planet. Tonight, on 17 Feb 2018, there are 7,458,999,561 people. That’s 110,616,955 more people, one of whom is Lucy Matic. Blame for the 779 day delay rests firmly upon her shoulders.
Volstad has given us two things to check out:
1. Hanger – uneven temporal schism
2. Cottage – 2 scientists in a 3 storey cottage-like UNIT research facility.
Three items of interest:
1. Chronodyne Generator – acts like an anchor (into any time)
2. Time Scanner – can look through schism to observe
3. Dimensional Interface device
We are currently on the second floor of the cottage about to interrogate the Scientists.
Flash of Light™ and we find ourselves in our vehicle an hour back in time. Krill is driving.
We haul ass back to the cottage.
We roll and determine that we are absolutely positive that we likely could have maybe traveled back in time. Maybe.
David bluffs our way past Glen and we get into the cottage. We go up to the second floor.
We interact with the scientists… the younger one (Malcolm) seems eager to talk. The older guy is reluctant.
Drew’s character talks tot he older guy about his work.
-Temporal Quantum Physics
-UNIT bothers him about the theft
-Dimensional Interface Device – stabalises 2 energy fields to allow passing. Makes bridge. Testing tomorrow.
Krill ineptly nabs a computer.
Confusion ensues. Guns are drawn.
Krill tackles the guard and disarms him.
Arman pockets the Dimensional Interface
Krill gets 6 ledgers from some metal shelves which he opens with his Swiss (German) Army knife.
Krill then heads to the roof and sees some “cosmonaut” technology. We all head up to check it out.
There are 3 metal posts (hollow rods)
Energy field (resonator, barrier, shield??)
Maybe an inactive stasis field. Yeah that’s it. Maybe.
We do note that there is way more power supply than what would normally be required for a research facility.
We take a peek at the 6 ledgers and find them full of final schematics for small handheld units.
We do back down and sweep the second floor for bugs. It’s clean
There is reference to a Phd student on vacation, so we give him a call.
What follows is an epically awesome moment of DM-ing.
We call Dr Bodhi Patel, Phd, Magnum cum Laude who is eating grapes and drinking coffee on a beach in the Bahamas
During the disappearances, there are whirring moises.
Department of Safety shut it down (hot spot for activity)
St Francis of Alilia (30 min away by car)
Ghosts 5 years ago – “I swear to gods” some guy dressed like a Monk disappeared – Brother “Goo”
We call Sister Mary to determine if we are on the correct path…
To the Monastery! “Keep Jack alive, he has important things to do”
We work on the computer and get power to the Dimensional Interface.
As we arrive, we ge the laptop open “1432”
it is 1900h and the place looks vacant.
We try to Jimmy the door with no luck and as we are giving up a guy appears “at least have the courtesy to knock”
“Open thine door to those who thirst”
He opens the door.
Malcolm is reluctant until we imbibe him with vodka to steady his nerves.
Head Abbot is James Pierce, no relation. He has minor psychic training which makes him hard to read. He’s more of a “Alien presence as Exorcism” kind of guy. He has seen “brothers” in the building, but hasn’t personally seen any disappearances. He knows of two people (Allan and Sheamus) who have seen something.
Krill deduces that the ghosts are the theives.
James offers us some office space and takes us there, past the rectory, fountain and church to the back of the Abbey, then heads off to find Allan and Sheamus.
Armon gets to work on cracking the safe : )
We get into the laptop’s emails and discover that it’s full of 15 years worth of partial schematics. Forst 5 years are for the chronodyne, next 5, the time scanner, and the final 5 the Dimensional Interface.
It appears someone was feeding Professor Stanislav Chorsky the plans for years.
There is an ominous knock at the door, but it’s just bitten eared Sheamus. He hows us where the ghosts were 5 yeras ago (basement, head a noise, saw them (no sound) then they were gone (evening))
Alan arrives and describes the ghosts from 10 years ago (by the tower at Morning Bells)
Their accurate time recollection is due to Brother Julian’s birthday being in one week.
We use the bottomless credit card to get a room with 5 cots, and 5 Monk robes. 600 pounds plus a 5 pound tip for Sheamus.
At 1930h we are back in the car and by 2000h we are at the Hanger. Benton is still at the gate and we bluff our way back in.
We see our footprints are still there from the day before.
We expect that between 11 and midnight the chronodyne generator locator will ring. We smell ozone.
End of round.
Of note, i have a note of which I do not recall the significance…
ROY G BIV with “jacked to read the documents” by BLUE and “us and Malcolm” by YELLOW.
